Especially in the Czech Republic are known wireless products based on the standard Wifi brand StraightCore. StraightCore GWP-116 is a 2.4 GHz outdoor wireless access point (ie. Access Point) and wireless client that meets the standards IEEE 802.11b/g. GWP-116 covers a large operating distance for Wireless LANs and broadband Internet access with transfer speeds up to 54 Mb/s.
Supports speeds up to 54 megabits per second (new speed 802.11g, 802.11b amounted to"only" 11 Mbps), and according to standards automatically switches to a slower speed depending on signal strength. Data transmissions are encrypted for added security 64 or 128-bit WEP code; also has support for WPA encryption, including TKIP. The novelty is WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2), which is a security standard of the new generation, which combines the most effective authentication and encryption technologies (eg AES), to protect wireless networks from unauthorized use.
GWP-116 is ideal for ISP for creating public access points (hotspots) and provide wireless Internet access for external users. Ideal locations include manufacturing plants, industrial locations, college and high school campuses, airports, golf courses, marinas and many other outdoor venues. To power the AP there is PoE (Power over Ethernet) to a distance of 40 meters.
