SFP optical modules
SFP moduly (Small Form-factor Pluggable) Jde o technický standard optických vložných transceiverů, definovaný v květnu 2001 skupinou MSA. Jedná se o kompaktní optický transceiver, resp. modul, převodník, používaný v telekomunikačních a datových sítích.
Transceivery jsou zásuvné moduly, dnes běžně podporované výrobci aktivních prvků. Díky modularitě, možnosti volby přenosového média a výkonu transceiverů, je možné postavit spoj, který nebude zbytečně nákladný, ale přesto funkčně plně odpovídající požadavkům na konkrétní trasu.
Nejčastěji využívanými formáty jsou SFP (mini-GBIC) pro gigabitové přenosy a SFP+ pro 10 gigabitové přenosy. Vzhledem ke stále se zvyšujícím požadavkům na propustnost datových sítí, se začínají ve stále větší míře používat transceivery QSFP+ pro 40 gigabitové přenosy a další méně obvyklé typy.
